KIRRA SMITH
PHOTOGRAPHER
THE PERSONAL
Hey there, I’m Kirra, a commercial, branding and product photographer based on the Gold Coast passionate about stories, connection, challenging people to think differently and travelling the world.
I’m the kind of gal who is obsessed with the beautiful things in life; especially watching the way light can change everything in a second and laughing with the people I love.
I’m also quite keen on the ocean, books, conscious living, ALL of the cheese and (best of all) my hairy little mate, Jagger.
My inspiration comes from art, fashion, exploring the world, soaking up the magic of nature and connecting with people who have something epic to share with the world. Which is probably you, since you’re here.
Welcome.
THE PROFESSIONAL
I started my career as a Publicist for boutique PR agency Bang in Sydney where I worked with international brands like FIJI Water, Green & Blacks Organic Chocolate and ecostore (to name a few).
From there I moved to sunny Queensland where I studied a Masters of Journalism and became a writer for Gold Coast Magazine, a Publicist again and then PR Director at Earth Events. There I worked on Pete Evans’ national tour and Gabby Bernstein’s international one, while developing a passion for spirituality and meeting some of the most interesting, self-aware people (my favourite kind) I’ve ever come across.
Next I landed a role as the Content Creator for Inside Gold Coast; writing stories, taking photos and meeting even more creative geniuses.
Over the past five years I have become a passionate photographer working with national brands, local media and incredible people to tell powerful stories through images. It’s the absolute love of my life.
Now, I’m a professional commercial, product and branding photographer and I’m all about capturing images that make people feel something (hungry often) and sharing stories. It’s my priority to build a connection with the people I photograph to make sure I’m telling your story perfectly.
As of 2023 my roster of clients includes the likes of Tourism Australia, Visit Noosa, Suncorp Australia, Broadsheet Media, Brisbane Airport, Destination Gold Coast, Urban List, i quit sugar, Dr Libby Weaver, The Village Markets and of course lots of local venues, small businesses and people creating good things in the world.
It blows my mind every day.
