5 outdoor photoshoot locations on the Gold Coast

If you’re lucky enough to be a Gold Coast local you’ll know that we are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to natural beauty. And if not, read on. Framing on side of our sparkly city is the Pacific Ocean while the other boasts rainforests and stunning mountain-scapes.

Which means there are plenty of pretty spots if you want your photoshoot to take place outside. In this post we’ll chat about outdoor photoshoot locations on the Gold Coast that can be found oceanside, and next time, hinterland options.

Here are five of my favourites.

Tallebudgera Dog Beach
Not only are there SO MANY cute pups to pat, the Tallebudgera Dog Beach (at the ocean end of Talle Creek) has lots of unique spots to snap some shots. There’s plenty of greenery, the ocean of course and a rocky little path with Burleigh Hill and Talle Creek as a backdrop. There’s also a little path with trees running down each side and the sun sets perfectly behind the trees allowing for that golden light to shine through. Heavenly.

The Spit
Just North of Surfers Paradise is Main Beach and not far from there, The Spit. It’s also a dog-friendly beach with beautifully lit sandy pathways, a jetty under which you can get some cool shots, the ocean and lots of dunes and greenery to hide amongst. There’s a set of stairs and the rocky breakwall too. So many options here so it’s perfect if you live at the northern end of the Coast.

Froggy’s Beach
Well known to Southern Gold Coast locals, Froggy’s is a hidden cove just south of Coolangatta, tucked away between Rainbow Bay and Duranbah Beach. There’s a rocky cliff face, a few greenery-filled pathways and a cement breakwall to name a few stunning photo options. Of course, you can always pop over to one of the other stunning beaches nearby for some extra goodness.

Cronulla Ave
While not a naturally beautiful location, Cronulla Ave in Mermaid Beach is perfect for a photoshoot that requires varied backgrounds in a more urban-style setting. The interesting street boasts walls and doors of varying colours and textures and wide streets that make for fun shots. If you go early in the morning or around sunset, there’s usually nobody else there (except other photographers of course).

Burleigh Heads
It’s definitely not the quietest spot on the Coast but it certainly is beautiful. Which makes it perfect for a photoshoot. If you’re after dark, moody shots Burleigh Hill is perfect with plenty of winding paths and looming greenery. The beach is magical, especially at sunrise and sunset and it goes without saying that Burleigh Hill is a stunning backdrop for lifestyle shoots and anyone that wants to show off the magic of the Gold Coast. You’ll get a few locals in the background too.

So there you have it, five of my favourite outdoor photoshoot locations on the Gold Coast. Of course, there are so many epic studios and stunning homes to rent out too. Stay tuned for posts on those too.
